Yaupon Chai Easy Street Sweet Rolls

For the Rolls
Frozen puff pastry dough, thawed in refrigerator 2 to 3 hours (use Dufour Classic Puff Pastry which is made of quality ingredients)
1/4 cup light brown sugar
1 tablespoon Habitat Yaupon Chai Powder
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3 tablespoons melted butter

Preheat oven to 400°F.  Line a baking dish with parchment paper.

In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, Chai Powder, and cinnamon.

Unwrap the pastry and place on a lightly floured surface.  Unfold and remove parchment paper.  Brush the puff pastry with melted butter, leaving about an inch of space around the edges.  Sprinkle the buttered area evenly with half of the sugar and Chai Powder mixture.

Gently roll up the dough so that it forms a snug log shape. Seal the open edge by brushing with half of the melted butter.  Use a sharp knife to slice the roll into 12 pieces.  Place each roll in the baking dish.  Bake for 20-30 minutes just until golden.

For the Glaze
2 tablespoons butter, at room temperature
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/4 teaspoon Habitat Yaupon Chai Powder
pinch of ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1-2 tablespoons whole milk

Sift together the powdered sugar, Chai Powder, and cinnamon.

Using an electric mixer, beat the butter until fluffy.  Gradually add the powdered sugar mixture, then add vanilla and enough milk to reach a pourable consistency.  Lightly rizzle the glaze over the cinnamon rolls.

These sweet rolls are best eaten fresh from the oven.
